Imagine the lights dimming, the audience goes quiet, the conductor lifts their baton and the first few notes either float or appear in dramatic fashion for the audience. They’re immediately drawn into the sonic story being presented, whether it’s dramatic and in-your-face loud, or more ethereal and wistful.

The concert hall is the place where imagination takes flight through music. Whether it’s listening to famous classical composers of the past or their more modern counterparts, classical music in all its forms can transport you to the outer limits of your imagination.  It can also mean music for awards ceremonies, promotions, adverts or video soundtracks.

This playlist contains some of my favourite concert hall music from everywhere. Whilst it may sound “classical”, it’s a mix of orchestral, choral and modern from film and television, and across the ages.
