Daytime hospitality venues such as lounge bars, coffee bars, café bars, coffee shops and informal all-day dining venues require a playlist that’s uplifting and easy to listen to. The music isn’t easy listening – far from it – but it should present a background texture that resonates rather than dissolves. This playlist can easily be played on shuffle to avoid repetition but can easily be expanded or shortened and timed with scheduled peak times if required.
Staff may be working long shifts and want to avoid the feeling of ‘when it gets to this song it’s x o’clock’ and guests may be regular and start to recognise the music. It’s more energetic than Morning Coffee Shops and slightly different/harder than Cool Café, but not as deep as Modern Busy Restaurants. It concentrates on acoustic pop, classics, chilled reworks/covers and familiar artists.
This sample playlist is quite long as it’s the third playlist I created but would probably require fairly frequent updates for busy venues to keep the sound fresh. I’m a big fan of coffee during the day in these places, and they’re also ideal for meeting friends, family and colleagues for lunch or after work. I will always visit a venue like this to gain on-site insight into customers, length of turnover, style of venue and the atmosphere. I would also endeavour to audition tracks on-site for any initial playlist work.
Why not get in touch to see if I can entertain and relax your customers in your daytime bar?
Lounging, brunch, coffee, afternoon relaxation in the bar. Acoustic, pop, chilled and relaxed but more upbeat than Morning Coffee Bar playlist.
