Evening hospitality venues such as classic bars, lounge bars, café bars, cocktail bars, coffee bars and all-day informal dining venues need a multitude of styles in their playlists. Cocktail bars can range from elegant and sophisticated track choice right through to deep house and something a bit, well, cooler. Whilst pumping deep house can provide a good background to serve funky drinks (with an increasing interest in no/low alcohol options that are becoming better by the day), it’s my opinion that the playlist needs to be more involved and interesting. Without variety it can become dull and monotonous, especially for staff who may be working long shifts.
I enjoy deep house soundtracks and their undeniably efficient at bringing a cool vibe for a small amount of effort. However, the quality can be variable if it’s selected by AI; what if a selected track is 7 minutes of repetitive beats over 1 chord with no tonal movement, and then the next track is more of the same? It’s probably OK if the bar is buzzing, but it’d hardly be memorable.
The sample playlist below covers multiple genres but doesn’t sit cohesively as a single playlist you could transplant to your bar. Get in touch for a personalised experience and make your bar truly unforgettable!
